Elizabethtown is the county seat of Hardin County and its main shopping, medical and job center, with Interstate 65 running along the east side of town and the Western Kentucky Parkway starting just south of it.
Public schools here are split between two districts. Elizabethtown Independent Schools serves much of the city itself, and Hardin County Schools serves the rest of the county, including many subdivisions that carry an Elizabethtown mailing address. Check the district for a specific address before you rely on it.
